Affordable Private Jet Charter Flights Emerge

Flying on a private jet charter has always been considered a status symbol for the ultra wealthy and pop culture icons, and certainly something out of reach of the average working family on Main St. However, thanks to an evolving marketplace and recent innovations in ticket pricing, many more people are now able to fly on private jets than ever before.

This is because many luxury airline companies are offering private jet charter flights for under $1,000, or even as low as $500 for a one-way trip. These new low price tickets are being offered as a way to expand beyond the ultra wealthy to a wider audience and help reduce the costs incurred in flying businesspeople and other passengers on one way voyages halfway across the continent. These new ticket prices stand in stark contrast to the average ticket price of $4,500 for each hour of the private charter flight.

The prices of these flights are often so steep due to only carrying passengers one way, leaving the jet empty on the return trip. However, since the airline must still pay for the pilots, cabin crew and fuel of the return trip they have expanded their sales to include last minute offers on these so-called “empty leg” flights that sell for a minute fraction of the cost of a standard charter ticket.

Many other companies are also offering to allow passengers to split the fee on the cost of the charter flight, taking a $1,000 ticket down to $250 if an individual can recruit three other passengers to join them. Many such passengers are drawn to the allure of experiencing their own personal charter jet flight, and the bragging rights that come with it. As a result these new pricing schemes are doing very well, and helping to contribute to the first real increase in profits that the industry has seen in several years.
